On December 18 and 19, Matthias performed and taught in Taipei, Taiwan.

Under the title "History and Development of the Guitar throughout the Centuries," he lectured and performed at Soochow University in Taipei. Furthermore, Matthias was invited to give a masterclass at the National Taiwan University of the Arts as well as at the Taiwan Guitar Society.
