This Fall Semester Matthias resigned from his position at Soochow University
due to personal reasons.

As a founding faculty of the School of Music, he has successfully accomplished his mission with a full guitar studio of international students in all offered degree programs. His Farewell concert to a full house at Enling Arts Center was an unforgettable musical and emotional experience for students, colleagues, and friends. Dean Dr. Hekun Wu 吴和坤 regretted his resignation with the words that Matthias has been "an invaluable asset to the establishment of [the] school in the past four years, contributing far beyond [his] calling as a teacher, performing artist, and administrator."
